Elpida 70 nm process DRAM
In December 2006, Elpida Memory became the world's first chip maker to launch mass production of DRAMs using 70 nm process technology, and is currently shipping products made with this cutting-edge process technology to customers.

70 nm process DRAMs offer the following three chief features.

  • High-speed operation (DDR2 SDRAMs: 1066 Mbps, Mobile RAMs: 400 Mbps)
  • Low heat generation and low power consumption
  • Higher productivity through more compact chip size

As the Hiroshima Plant's E300 line shifts toward supporting 70 nm process technology, the company's production system will be able to ship increasing number of 70 nm product devices.
