President Yukio Sakamoto

Yukio Sakamoto became our President and Chief Executive Officer in November 2002. From March 2000 to October 2002, Mr. Sakamoto was the President of UMC JAPAN (formerly Nippon Foundry, Inc.). Prior to joining UMC JAPAN, he acted in a number of positions at Kobe Steel, Ltd., including General Manager of the Semiconductor Department, Electronics & Information Division. Prior to joining Kobe Steel, he was Vice President of Texas Instruments Japan Limited from April 1993 to September 1997. He is also currently a Director of Akita Elpida and of Rexchip.

Director Shuichi Otsuka

Shuichi Otsuka became a Director in March 2004. Mr. Otsuka has been our Chief Operating Officer since November 2002. Prior to joining Elpida, he acted in a number of important positions within Sony, including the President of System Device Company (within Semiconductor Network Company) from April 2001 to September 2002. He became a president of subsidiary Akita Elpida in November 2009. He concurrently serves as a Director of Rexchip.

Director Takao Adachi

Takao Adachi became a Director in June 2006. Mr. Adachi is also our Chief Technology Officer (New Business Unit) of Elpida. He acted in a number of important positions within Elpida from April 2000 to April 2004, including General Manager of the Technology Development Office. Prior to joining Elpida, He was Project Manager of Planning and Development at the First Memory Division of LSI Memory Operation Unit within Electron Device of NEC from June 2000 to October 2000. He also concurrently serves as a Director of Rexchip.

Director Hideki Gomi

Hideki Gomi became a Director in June 2008. Mr. Gomi is also a Chief Technology Officer (DRAM Business Unit) of Elpida. He acted in a number of important positions within Elpida from October 2003 to July 2006, including the Executive Manager of the Advanced Process Development Group at the Technology & Development Office. Prior to joining Elpida, He was Project Manager of Thin Film Process Development Laboratory and ULSI Device Development Laboratories within NEC Corporation from July 1996 to March 2000.

Director Toshio Nohara *

Toshio Nohara became a Director in April 2003. Mr. Nohara has also been a corporate auditor of Renesas Technology Corp. since April 2006.

Director Kosei Nomiya *

Kosei Nomiya became a Director in September 2004. Mr. Nomiya has also been the Chairman of Ultratech Japan K.K. since May 2004. He is also currently a Director of Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI) since July 2002.

Director Tsutomu Niimura *

Tsutomu Niimura became a Director in June 2006. Mr. Niimura is an Executive Alumnus of Sony Corporation since April 2006 and a Director of PALTEK Corporation since March 2008.

Director Tsugio Makimoto *

Tsugio Makimoto became a Director in June 2006. Mr. Makimoto has also been the Representative Director of PDF Solutions KK and the Representative of Technovision Consulting since July 2005.

Corporate Auditor Masaji Kubo

Masaji Kubo became a Corporate Auditor in June 2005. He was Chief Administrative Officer from Dec 2002 to June 2005 and a Director of Hiroshima Elpida from Sept 2003 to March 2004. Prior to joining Elpida Mr. Kubo was executive of the Management Planning Division within the Semiconductor & Integrated Circuits Group at Hitachi from September 2000 to July 2002.

Corporate Auditor Toshimasa Ota

Toshimasa Ota became a Corporate Auditor at Elpida and Akita Elpida Memory in June 2007. He was acting-Executive Manager of the Legal Group from April 2003 to May 2007 and Executive Manager of the IP & Legal Department from April 2006 to May 2007. Since May 2007 he has also been a Corporate Auditor at Tera Probe, Inc.

Corporate Auditor Katsumi Sakurai **

Katsumi Sakurai became a Corporate Auditor in June 2007. He was formerly president of Ibaraki Hitachi Information Service Co., Ltd. from May 2003 to May 2005.

Corporate Auditor Masamitsu Nakayama **

Masamitsu Nakayama became a Corporate Auditor in June 2009.
He was formerly Director, Chairman of Audit Committee of Japan Servo Co., Ltd.
