Elpida Memory's Environmental Principles provide a written outline of the goals the company wishes to achieve through its business activities. By ensuring that individual employees share that vision and approach their responsibilities with the same attitude, the company is able to pursue its Environmental Principles.
Elpida Memory has formulated the Elpida Environmental Vision and the Action Guidelines to describe how employees' daily fulfi llment of their responsibilities leads to the achievement of the Environmental Principles.

Elpida Memory will proactively contribute to conserving energy and preventing global warming throughout society, through the development and manufacture of sophisticated energy-saving semiconductor products.
- Reduce environmental impacts throughout the product life cycle by providing eco-products through semiconductor process miniaturization, high integration, and reduced power consumption.
- Pursue world-class eco-factories through such means as improvements in production efficiency and resource/energy utilization efficiency.
Action Guidelines
Elpida Memory employees pledge to respect and preserve the environment in Elpida business operations. A key management objective is to insure that this respect and preservation is appropriately supported and continuously improved.
Providing environmentally friendly products
We will provide resource- and energy-saving products that anticipate the needs of an information-oriented society by evaluating their environmental friendliness and safety throughout the product life cycle during the development and design stages and assuring their conformity to the demands of environmental conservation.
Production initiatives
We will strive to promote resource reuse and implement efficient, safe manufacturing techniques through environmental technologies for reducing waste products and preventing pollution. By achieving resource and energy savings through those environmental technologies at every stage of the product life cycle, from design and manufacture to distribution and disposal, we will contribute to the preservation of a sustainable global environment and the conservation of biodiversity.
Compliance with environmental regulations and information disclosure
In addition to complying with national and local environmental regulations, we will strive to improve our own level of environmental management by establishing voluntary management standards. At the same time, we will work to disclose information about our environmental activities to all stakeholders both inside and outside the company, including customers and local communities.
Continuous improvement of our environmental management system
