Santa Clara, Calif., June 11, 2001 - Elpida Memory (USA) Inc. (Elpida), the industry's only major semiconductor company to focus completely on DRAM, announced today its new partnerships with two electronics components distributors: Future Electronics - based in Montreal, Canada, and Symmetry Electronics - based in Los Angeles, California. These distributors offer sales support that will supplement Elpida's sales force throughout North America.
"We are excited to be working with both Future Electronics and Symmetry Electronics," noted Bijan Yazdani, Western Area director of sales for Elpida Memory (USA) Inc. "Both companies offer unique strengths that will help us to grow our presence in the North American DRAM market. Future Electronics has a strong nationwide infrastructure along with a broad product portfolio, and now their customers can get Elpida DRAMs too. Symmetry is a smaller, high growth rate company that focuses strategically on commodities - especially memories. Their lean operations and low overhead allow them to effectively manage all levels of the memory business."
"Elpida Memory has one of the broadest product line-ups in the DRAM industry, including SDRAM, DDR, Rambus, and more," stated Peter Austin, worldwide business manager, Memory, for Future Electronics. "Elpida's lineup of leading DRAM products will strengthen our ability to offer one-stop-shopping to our customer base, and we welcome the opportunity to deliver Elpida Memory to our valued customers."
"We are delighted to be representing Elpida Memory as our exclusive DRAM supplier," proclaimed Joe Caravana, president, Symmetry Electronics. "When it comes to DRAM, Elpida's technology is top notch, and we look forward to offering our customers such quality and variety."
