Rexchip earns TOSHMS certification

Rexchip as a specialized DRAM manufacturer emphasizes the importance of maintaining a safe and healthy environment and has been rewarded with the "Taiwan Occupational Safety and Health Management System" (TOSHMS) certification from the Council of Labor Affairs of Taiwan (CLA). Rexchip is one of the first fifty-one entities to earn this certification in 2008.
In 2008, the CLA promoted TOSHMS as the official certification standard which combines the strengths and advantages of international standards for establishing health and safety guidelines in the work environment, such as ILO-OSH 2001 and OHSAS 18001. Rexchip continues its program of meeting stringent international workplace standards with the recent TOSHMS certification, even though it has already earned both OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 certifications.
In fact, Rexchip has been continuing to establish rules designed to improve employee health and safety in its workplace, implementing controlling procedures that cover such areas as chemical management, construction contractors' safety management and the investigation of events. After gaining TOSHMS certification, Rexchip also will continue to benefit from the following,
- Replacing normal inspections as a condition to achieve the requirement of CLA's occupational safety and health management.
- Holding TOSHMS as one of the necessary conditions to apply for National Industrial Safety and Health Award.
- Considering TOSHMS as requirement for government procurement in the future.
- Considering TOSHMS certification as a condition for application for WCO AEO (World Customs Organization, Authorized Economic Operator) certification in the future.
