Rexchip Earned an Award for International Trade of Its Outstanding Export Growth in 2009
Houli, Taiwan, August 25, 2010 – Rexchip Electronics (4932) is a leading DRAM manufacturer in Taiwan. Its 300mm fabrication facility utilizes the most advanced technology to manufacture high density and high performance DRAM products. Today, August 25th, Rexchip President, Mr. Stephen Chen attended the "Award for International Trade 2009" ceremony given at the Taipei International Convention Center and received the Award for "Top 10 Export Growth Companies." In 2009, the export growth rate of Rexchip was 169.33% and was ranked ninth place. Also, the total amount of export and import Rexchip achieved in 2009 was 860.33 million US dollars and was ranked thirty-eighth place.
Mr. Stephen Chen, stated that the DRAM industry experienced a global downturn from the second half of 2007 to the first half of 2009. During this difficult period, Rexchip did not reduce capacity or implement any forced unpaid leave. Furthermore, when the market recovered in 2009, Rexchip became the first Taiwan DRAM manufacturer who returned into profit. We would like to extend our gratitude to the Ministry of Economic Affairs for awarding this prize in recognition of our efforts.
The export amount Rexchip achieved was $241.86 million US dollars in 2008, and increased to $651.39 million US dollars in 2009, resulting in an export growth rate of 169.33% for 2009. This year, Rexchip will concentrate on migrating to Elpida's 40nm process technology in order to provide high-quality mainstream DRAM products for our international customers. We once again would like to thank the Ministry of Economic Affairs on behalf of all of our employees for recognizing our efforts despite the harsh economic environment we encountered the previous years.
