Reaching the goal of becoming the world's No. 1 DRAM maker requires having a large business presence in the biggest DRAM application area – personal computers. Consequently, in addition to maintaining our focus on "Premier DRAMs," a core business area, from FY 2006 Elpida began to increase its share of the PC DRAM market. Rexchip Electronics Corporation, a joint venture established with Taiwan-based Powerchip Semiconductor Corporation (PSC), began manufacturing operations as a PC DRAM fab in July 2007 and is becoming an increasingly important business.
